General Principle
The European Commission has set up a series of financial instruments in order to achieve the goal of building a stronger Europe. The institution has become a major player for organisations willing to act at the European level.The period of 2007-2013 is opening positive opportunities for organisations: several billion Euros will be allocated to finance projects for public, private and non-for-profit sectors.Welcomeurope was thus founded by French and Dutch experts in 2000 who had as objective to initiate a closer cooperation between local actors and the European institutions. Today, the team consists of 13 professionals centralised in Paris, France and who displace themselves around Europe for their clients.

Aware of the difficulties involved in collecting the right information, submitting application forms to answer the calls for proposals set by the EU Commission, carrying out the projects and leading lobbying actions, Welcomeurope has set up tools to guide its clients in the various steps required to be taken in order to achieve positive results. It advises in EU funding questions, follow-up of projects as well as communication and partnership strategies.

Welcomeurope assists corporations, SMEs, administrations, ministries and non-for-profit organisations (Unions, Federations, NGOs…). The role of Welcomeurope has always been to assist at the internal level any organisation in the formalisation of their European action plans including the actual participation in the funding programmes, the coaching and training of their teams, partnership building, as well as lobbying and other such strategic actions.
1. EU Funding Consultancy
Welcomeurope guides professionals in:
- the identification of relevant EU programmes for their organisation and their projects;
- the assistance in the formalisation process of an application form (calls for proposals), from the project’s idea and partnership organisation to the final submission of the application;
- the assistance in designing eligible and optimal budgets for the organisation’s project;
- the assistance in running the funded projects (management and communication workpackages).

Funding reviews, identification of potential partners and formalisation of agreements, dialogue with the programme officers at the European Commission, application form procedures, partnership agreements, partnership meetings, budget designing, elaboration of management tools for the project’s leaders, etc.
